The Set

Have you seen the set?

  1. Since we have a local artist that LOVES to paint the backdrop, and we don't really have the space or lighting to do the shadow boxes, I'm thinking we'll have a painted backdrop that is primarily bamboo 'forest' and maybe mountains &/or the Great Wall in the back of that. (I've googled for some photos/pic our artist can use to put something like this together.) I plan on making LOTS of bamboo with carpet tubes, pvc pipe, etc. and having them in sand or concrete filled buckets/boxes. They'll sit all around the stage to give the 'forest' that third dimension. We'll have a pond, maybe with a waterfall going into it (maybe part of the painted backdrop), and focus most of the 'wild' pandas hanging from our bamboo tubes and the pond. I'm thinking we might use pipe insulation tubes to make bamboo 'covers' for the microphone & music stands, too.

Of course, all of this is MY ideas because you asked... I have not talked to anyone from our churches who will actually be making all this happen - they may have different opinions! :D

  2. I love your ideas, Cassie! I like the whole shaddow thing that group did, but not all of the cardboard cutouts.........

  3. I love your idea as well. I am not crazy about the set either...it seems too juvenille...would be great for PK - younger elementary...but the older ones...I think that they would think it was too babyish. Of couse, I am 2 weeks away from HSE...better keep my focus on the present!!!
    Blessings!!
